Want to network and collaborate with fellow co-op professionals? The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA CLUSA) is hosting the first conference specifically designed for legal and accounting professionals who serve the cooperative community, in collaboration with the following legal experts:

David P. Swanson, partner, Dorsey & Whitney

Thomas Beckett, attorney, Mountain South Business Law

Linda D. Phillips, partner, Phillips Law Offices LLC

Jason Wiener, principle, Jason Wiener, P.C.

Convening in Denver, Colorado, from November 6 to 8, the Cooperative Professionals Conference will create a brand-new platform for professional collaboration within the co-op movement. Participants will be part of an exclusive team tasked with shaping the conference going forward.

Look forward to identifying trends and sharing best practices about legal and tax issues affecting co-ops, and exploring how Co-op Professionals Conference attendance could count toward Continuing Professional Education certification.

Topics include co-op organization and business planning; regulation and compliance; co-op governance and management; taxation, Subchapter T and the IRS; co-op finance and securities; and the role of Cooperative Development Organizations.

The conference will be relevant for professionals who work for or with co-ops, including attorneys, accountants, CPAs, financial and investment advisors, insurance advisors and legislative staff.
