Application Questions

  1. Since our founding, Equal Exchange has tried to change the food system (the way businesses operate/trade is conducted); we have not yet succeeded. In an increasing consolidated and corporate controlled landscape, what actions do you think are now necessary for us to effectively challenge the status quo/build a different food system that works for farmers, workers, and consumers.
  2. Our supporters are spread across the country and engage with Equal Exchange in very different ways. Describe an organizing model – or organizing activities - that you think would be appropriate for EE to build an engaged community of citizen-consumers. Many brands are exploring ways to connect with their supporters, how is Equal Exchange’s initiative different?
