Co-op Professionals Track: The Regulated Cooperative – Tax Matters

This session provides an introduction to the general framework of tax and accounting rules and regulations, equity accumulation considerations, the close relationship between equity accumulation and taxes, patronage determinations, recent updates on Patronage-Determination Rulings, cooperative accounting systems, choice of entity considerations, IRS exam and audits, procedures,appeals and tips.

This session is chaired by Roland F. Hall, Esq. (Attorney, Autry, Hall & Cook, LLP) and features panelists Don Frederick (Attorney, former Director of Education, National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives), David Cook (Attorney, Autry, Hall & Cook, LLP) and Bruce Mayer (MBA, CPA, Wegner CPAs).

The Cooperative Professionals Track of IMPACT 2017 is supported by the Sustainable Economies Law Center, a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. The Law Center certifies that the Thursday, October 5 sessions have been approved for 1.5 hours of California MCLE credit per session.
