Hosted by actor Sam Waterston (Law & OrderThe Newsroom), “In the Spirit of Cooperation” featured stories from some of NCBA CLUSA’s members and development projects in the U.S., Mozambique and East Timor, including a credit union that helped revive a food desert, a coffee co-op that became its nation’s largest private healthcare provider and a food co-op doing its part to combat income inequality by paying the highest entry-level wages in the country for its industry.

Shot over six months and across three continents, the Visionaries Series—which aired its 21st season during 2017—documented cooperative entrepreneurialism and innovation at every turn, highlighting the scope, impact and potential of the cooperative business model during NCBA CLUSA’s 100th Anniversary.

“Visionaries produces media that can have a measurable impact on the greater good. Our shows are created to inspire through a sense of shared experience. I can’t imagine anything more compatible with the co-op model,” Executive Producer Bill Mosher said. Read this interview with the producers to learn why they think the co-op story is worth telling.
