America's electric cooperatives celebrate 75 years of service, advocacy

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is celebrating 75 years of service and advocacy to America's electric cooperatives this year. In March 1942, eleven leaders from electric cooperatives and statewide organizations around the country met in Washington, D.C. to establish an association that would advocate on behalf of their interests. Today, NRECA represents the nation's more than 900 non-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which serve 42 million people in 47 states. It's celebrating this milestone with a series of stories spotlighting its members.
